St.Joseph's H.S School Thrikkakara is situated on a rather big plot of land given by His Grace Archbishop Joseph Attipetty belonging to the Archdicese of Veraploy and it faces the 'CUSAT' in the east and also overlooks fascinating scenery. It offers ample opportunities to students of all categories-3 ½ to 17 years for developing their physical and intellectual abilities.

Like all other institutions this reputed school had its humble beginning in a modest tiled cottage close to the present site. After the foundation was laid on 26th Jan.1963 the work went on in full swing and the building developed like a dream in a fairy land into a full-fledged outstanding H. school and in 1967 the first batch of students appeared for the SSLC Examination. Ever since its inception the school has been producing excellent results. In 2002 it became a Higher Secondary School has been introduction of the Plus-Two course. It Also provides transport facilities{to and fro]for students in a far flung areas and helps them avail themselves of the many opportunities they are need of. In a span 46 years of its existence it has enjoyed the services of 14 managers and seven headmistresses/principals. At present it has strength of 2200 students and a jumbo staff of 76 efficient and well qualified teaching staff and 18 Non-teaching staff. We are self-sufficient with well-equipped laboratories in science(physics,chemistry,zoology&botany) & Information Technology. Along with scholastic performance we also give importance to the development of the non-scholastic areas also.

St.Joseph's H.S School is owned and admitted by the carmelite Sisters of St. Teressa it is inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose values were love,peace, brotherhood/sisterhood, equality,joy,service,forgiveness etc. It is a Minority School enjoying the relevant rights and privileges guaranteed by he Indian Constitution. As a Catholic and Carmelite school,it tries to promote the holistic development of young people based on the integral vision of the human person, of life and of our Foundress, Mother Teresa of St. Rose of Lima, work together for the common goal of forming young people into citizens, worthy of God and worthy of our Nation and the Word. In our educative mission, the participation and collaboration of the Educating Community(Management,Staff,Students,Parents and Guardians) is an indispensable feature. The sense of shared responsibility and active involvement in order to achieve the common goals and vision of education enables us to form one family.
